Frequently Asked CBD Questions

How does CBD work?

Cannabinoids, like CBD, are distributed throughout the endocannabinoid system and attach to the receptors where they are needed most. They then send regulating signals to tissues and the brain.

The body maintains a balance of cannabinoids and only uses them when they’re needed. Health challenges deplete cannabinoids as they are used to the body to bring them back to health. Full spectrum CBD oil helps to re-nourish the body’s cannabinoids.

What are the benefits of CBD?

People reportedly take hemp for its anti-inflammatory effects. Testimonies run the full scope of Neurological conditions: migraines, arthritis, PTSD, MS, Autism, Epilepsy, and others.

CBD has “..enormous therapeutic potential. Although CBD doesn’t make people feel high like THC does, it’s causing quite a buzz among scientists, health professionals, and medical marijuana patients who are using CBD-rich products to treat a wide range of conditions—chronic pain, cancer, Crohn’s, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, antibiotic-resistant infections, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, and more. Academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere are currently studying the effects of CBD on these and other ailments.

Scientists refer to CBD as a “promiscuous” compound because it confers therapeutic benefits in many different ways while tapping into how we function physiologically and biologically on a deep level.

Extensive preclinical research and some clinical studies have shown that CBD has strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, anti-depressant, anti-psychotic, anti-tumoral, and neuroprotective qualities. Cannabidiol can change gene expression and remove beta amyloid plaque, the hallmark of Alzheimer’s, from brain cells.”

Hemp, Marijuana, &Cannabis: What’s the difference?

Hemp plants and marijuana plants are very similar — but they are not the same. They are two different varieties of the same species of plant: cannabis.

Both hemp and marijuana contain cannabinoids and terpene molecules. The infinite combinations of these different types of compounds are what creates different types of cannabis, and the differences in sensation, taste, smell, and pyscho-activeness of cannabis plants.

While hemp has high levels of CBD (See “What is CBD?”), it has extremely low levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is the chemical compound that creates the “high” sensation people report feeling while using marijuana.

Hemp is legally defined as having less than 0.3% THC, while marijuana plants typically contain 5% – 38% THC. The Federal government specifically stated that part of the reason the hemp definition was set at <0.3% is because at that concentration “hemp” can have no psychoactive effect at any dose.
